Versailles,
Chantilly, Fontainebleau, Grenoblois : the magical names
of the wooden flooring of the XVII, XVIII and XIX th
centuries. The French oak (chêne), light blond,
dark, more or less polished is the material which sets
the tone of the castles of those times and, provides
the fundamental note for the opulent designs of the
great contemporary decorators.
Farnese has studied their layouts, and the nature of
the woods they used. We rescue the healthy part and
give new vitality to its composition. The restoration
is completed by the reproduction of the old flooring
standards composed of long and wide boards which, once
recuperated, are subjected to an analogous restoration
process.
